4 Simple Steps to Choose the Right Range Hood

STEP 1 : CHECK THE DUCT
  • Ducted Range Hoods vent cooking odors, smoke, grease, and steam out of your house
  • Ductless Range Hoods use charcoal filters to recirculate filter the air back into the home.
  • Convertibles are hoods that allow either ducted or non-ducted.
Ducted hoods tend to be more efficient for getting rid of cooking odors, smoke, grease, and steam from the cooking area. They are not filtering and recirculating the air but are instead venting it out of the kitchen altogether. That is why at Pacific, all the range hoods require duct. The ideal duct size is 6” or larger. Smaller duct size may decrease your kitchen range hood’s efficiency by restricting the airflow as it travels through your ductwork. If you do not have ductwork at home, please contact customer service for professional advice.
